"Rapid Intervention Case
Management - RICM - immediate assessment, advice and management"

One of the principal difficulties
that clients face with Occupational Health Services is that of delay.
It is not at all satisfactory waiting several months for a report when an
employee is absent with potential "work related stress" for example,
yet where action is required immediately. There is overwhelming
research to support that
the longer someone is absent the more difficult it is to rehabilitate
them back into the work environment. Such a situation is
unsatisfactory for employee and employer alike. Rapid Intervention Case
Management addresses those issues.
It does this by
functioning in the following way:
-
Referrals sent
when agreed trigger points are reached
-
Immediate
telephonic assessment of the employee by qualified OH Staff within 48 hrs of receipt of the referral
-
Immediate
feedback to the employer regarding the principal issues affecting
the employee including the prognosis
-
An
action/management plan devised and agreed between all parties
