"Legislation can require the employer to conduct specific health
surveillance for their employees"

Health surveillance is mandatory (lawfully
required) in certain industries and as indicated by risk assessment
processes, e.g. under the COSHH Regulations. In addition many
employers wish to exercise "best practice", such as by carrying out periodic
assessments of fork lift truck drivers.
Most of these
assessments would be carried out by an Occupational Health Nursing
Adviser although some legislation requires the assessment to be
performed by
a suitably accredited physician, e.g. under the "Lead Regulations".
We are able to fulfil all of these functions
which are usually carried out
on-site although other facilities can be made available.
Some employers also
wish us to undertake a 'well person screening' programme which we are able
to provide in a flexible manner.
