The "Standards of Practice in Private Medicine
(Occupational Health)" states that all employers should have access to
suitably qualified OH Staff and for the bigger organisations that should
be a Consultant Occupational Physician. MOH has such calibre
clinicians within its organisation.
The Company Medical
Adviser therefore, has a vital role to play in leading
the service and will fulfil within the contract a number of different
functions, including but limited to those detailed below:

Assistance and
guidance on the management of strategic health issues

Assistance with
the development and implementation of health policies

Co-ordination of
the service
-
On-site presence
as required
-
Telephonic
advice
-
Liaison with
third parties, eg insurers, treating clinicians etc

Teaching support
for OH management and health education

Representation at ET
and Civil Trials
